# Car audio interrupt (CAI)

Default: disabled

ENABLED:

JBV1 alert speech only will be sent to your car radio, interrupting any audio the radio is currently playing from any source.  JBV1 notification sounds will be played on your Android device's built-in speaker.  V1 alert sounds from JBV1 are not played, because attempting to do so results in audio glitches.

## CAI mode

There are two different modes available for car audio interrupt:  ***Play as PHONE CALL (default), Play as VOICE PROMPT***.

PLAY AS PHONE CALL:

JBV1 will initiate a hands-free phone call, which opens an audio channel to your car radio.  Instead of dialing a phone number, JBV1 will play speech to the CALL audio stream and then terminate the call.

PLAY AS VOICE PROMPT:

JBV1 will initiate voice recognition on your car radio, which opens an audio channel.  This is known to work on some car radios, like Ford Sync 3 and many aftermarket radios.  It's known to not work with Uconnect (Chrysler, Dodge, RAM).  This is the best mode to use if it works with the connected car radio.
